Hemp fiber is a Hmong’s culture for a long time. Hmong tribe is a real expert to produce Hemp yarn. Hmong’s process to make hemp fiber take all year round and they live with it.

Hemp takes over 3 months to grow from seed to high about 2 meters. After harvested and dried, the outer layer of stem will be peeled out and split into fiber. Then each individual fiber will be twist together one by one, meter to meter to make a long thread. This is 100% handmade process that take all the free time in everyday life. But Hmong always enjoy doing these. Someone said Hemp is Hmong’s soul and I totally agree.

That are the reasons that handmade hemp yarn is expensive…and Why should we use hemp?

For sure Hemp texture is uniquely beautiful, durable and hemp fabrics is more effectively block the UV rays than others. More over Hemp is earth friendly crop, no any pesticide needed, use less water and less land deforestation to grow.
